Chinook RG brings over 35 years of experience in developing rhythmic gymnastics excellence at every level. We are proud to be Calgary’s premier rhythmic gymnastics club and the only club in the city developing individual athletes at the national level. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of coaching available, combining strong technical expertise with a deep passion for the sport. Our dedicated team fosters an environment where each athlete is supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Since 1991, our program has consistently produced medalists and champions at the provincial, regional, and national levels, earning multiple Provincial and Western Canadian Championship titles. Since 1992, we have also maintained consistent qualification to the Canadian National Championships and representation on the Canadian National Teams.

Based at the MNP Community & Sport Centre—our home since the beginning—we train in a nationally recognized facility that supports high-performance training and meets the unique demands of rhythmic gymnastics.

Recreational/New Beginners

Rhythmic gymnastics combines sport and dance with music to create a beautiful display of athleticism and grace! Our recreational program introduces the basics of rhythmic gymnastics such as flexibility, coordination, balance, and locomotion. Gymnasts will learn hand-eye coordination skills with various rhythmic apparatus such as throwing, catching, & bouncing. The primary goals for this group are building body awareness, physical literacy, and fundamental movement skills.

In addition to developing basic physical skills, another key aspect of our Recreational program is developing a positive and supportive environment. We encourage all participants to be “good citizens”, which includes listening to and following simple directions, learning to trust their coach, and working with others.

These gymnasts have the opportunity to perform as a group in the Winter & Summer Gala Performances in Calgary. No previous experience is required.

GOAL SETTING / COORDINATION / MUSICALITY
Interclub/Precompetitive

Our pre-competitive program is designed to further develop apparatus and body techniques in order for gymnasts to be able to compete as a group or individually in the future. Once the fundamental skills are mastered, we begin to work on combining the body skills with the apparatus into routines set to music.

Learning to train together in a collaborative group environment gives gymnasts an introduction to goal-setting, learning how to overcome challenges, and developing their own personal creativity.

Gymnasts have the opportunity to perform and be evaluated at various performances both locally and within Alberta. No previous experience is required.
